Facilitates an atmosphere of participative management and the development of collegial relationships among the nursing staff. Serves as a link between the nursing staff and other health care disciplines, both within and outside of organized nursing services. Allocates available resources for efficient and effective nursing care, provides input into executive-level decisions, and keeps the staff informed of executive-level activities. Has the major responsibility for the implementation of the philosophy, goals, and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility. | | Qualifications: Registered nurse with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a mental health treatment setting. Master’s preferred in Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing or its equivalent from a school of nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing, or be qualified by education and experience in the care of the mentally ill including on-going training in psychiatric nursing. Progressive experience in area of responsibility. Strong clinical, leadership, and management skills; good interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships; a high level of initiative and creative problem-solving ability.
